Kraft Labels

Kraft Labels

The kraft labels we supply are environmentally friendly as they aren’t bleached and hence have a natural brown colour that also has a ribbed finish.  Further to this due to the material properties the brown labels biodegrade quickly and are even compostable.  The pulp is up to ECF or TCF grade meaning the less environmentally acceptable chlorine bleaching methods aren’t used.  With this in mind this type of label is typically used as product labels for items that are themselves environmentally friendly.  With the kraft labels having a natural look they can also be applied to products that are handmade or have a similar kraft feel to them.  Other than that they are also a versatile label that adds another colour option (brown) into our range of coloured paper labels.

The adhesive on the brown labels is permanent and is suitable for wide range of applications and they can even be applied on dry, non-fatty foods according to the European food stuff certification.  In terms of printability the kraft labels are compatible with laser, digital, inkjet, litho and copier printing methods.  Print can be either black or colour but due to the shade of brown of the face material on the label they are more optimised for black only print.

In terms of storage of the brown labels they can be stored in a wide range of temperatures but it is highly recommended that they be stored at room temperature and at the same conditions where the printer is housed for at least 48 hours before printing.   Specifically the minimum application temperature is 0oC (optimum is 20 oC) with an application temperature range of -20 oC to 80 oC.  Apart from using the bypass tray for optimised printing results it is best to set the printer to account for the thickness of the labels which are 90gsm or 88 microns.
